Satellite Stories
Super designer Enrico Bettesworth and I created this site as our entry for the Sensis / AIMIA "Beyond the Mashup" competition. We came 5th.
The purpose of this competition was to create a site or tool based around the beta version of Sensis' Whereis® API. Our idea was to create a site dedicated to story telling, allowing ordinary and extraordinary Australians to tell stories about themselves, their loved ones, their area, and their country. We had several ideas that might appeal to the judges based on what’s popular on the web right now – social networking, blogs, web 2.0, crowdsourcing – but those ideas and concepts have a limited shelf life. Storytelling will continue to go on forever. We hope that in the future this site can be used by schools and historians alike as an education tool.
