How to prepare for the February 1 2024 email changes by Google and Yahoo

In an effort to reduce spam, Google and Yahoo have announced they will be implementing tighter controls around email delivery. In a nutshell, to send emails that don't end up in spam folders all around the world, you need to have an authenticated domain.

This means having the following DNS records set up for each of the domains you send email from:
DKIM — DomainKeys Identified Mail
SPF — Sender Policy Framework
DMARC — Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance

You can also take this opportunity to further build trust with your customers by adding a BIMI record! BIMI stands for Brand Indicators for Message Identification, and is an authentication method which uses the above DNS records plus a special BIMI record which points to your logo. This logo then appears in various email clients, so your customers know that it was definitely you that sent them an email.

Unsure if your domain is compliant? Use MailReach's DKIM checker — all you have to do is send an email!

If your domain is invalid and you're not sure how to get these records set up, reach out below and we can schedule in a 10-minute call.
